pressure monitor.
Of course when many people think of blood pressure monitors they think of the more automatic types of blood pressure reading devices used to monitor patients’ blood pressures around the clock in hospitals. Typically, these are merely the traditional inflatable cuff heart pressure reading device, but it is set up to automatically go off at a set interval of time and sendthe results to the nurses’ station.
There are invasive blood pressure monitors such as cannulas that are placed directly into a blood vessel to accurately read the current blood pressure. The cannula is connected to an electronic device that translate the reading to digital numbers.
The inflatable cuff blood pressure reading device is a non-invasive device that takes oscillometric and auscultatory measurements. These are so common in clinics and hospitals because of their relative comfort, ease of use and lack of malfunction as compared to their relatively affordable price.
Normal blood pressure rates fall between 90 and 135 mm Hg for systolic pressure, which is the peak pressure when blood is surging through the vessels. A normal diastolic pressure range is between 50 and 90 mm Hg.
It is a good idea to take your blood pressure somewhat regularly if you have noticed your measurements being on the higher end of those ranges. If you do not own or do not know how to use a blood pressure cuff, there are usually automatic blood pressure reading machines at the local drugstore.
